Juan Posada

Juan Posada is a freelance photographer with over 18 years of professional experience. He began his career specializing in wedding photography, before expanding into a broader range of eventbased work, including family, corporate, nonprofit, and cultural institutions. His clients have included organizations such as the City of Los Angeles, Medellín Metro, Colombia’s Ministry of Culture, ArtCenter College of Design, Otis College of Art and Design, the Skirball Cultural Center, the City of Pasadena, and the Armory Center for the Arts, among others. His work is rooted in an observational, documentary-style approach. He is drawn to the spontaneity of everyday life, allowing moments to unfold naturally rather than directing them, and is particularly interested in uncovering beauty within the ordinary. His photographs have been featured in group exhibitions and published in exhibition catalogues, magazines, and books. As an instructor, Posada is committed to making technical aspects of photography accessible and approachable. He encourages students to build confidence with their tools while developing a personal way of seeing, fostering curiosity and attentiveness as essential elements of the photographic process.
