Robyn Reed, PLA, ASLA
Robyn Reed, PLA, ASLA, is a designer, educator, and researcher based in Los Angeles, California. A graduate of UCSC and the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD), Robyn is a licensed landscape architect with more than 20 years in practice working at a range of scales, from residential design to urban plazas, to master planning. Robyn’s ongoing research examines the role of landscape in memorials, and how spatial practices might engage and bring attention to hidden histories. Her recent essay, Rooted in empathy: landscape at the centre of German Holocaust memorials, focuses on the role of trees in conveying themes of presence, absence, and resilience. As an experienced teacher and mentor, Robyn has taught undergraduate and graduate students at Louisiana State University, RISD, Cal-Poly Pomona, and USC. Her areas of expertise include site design, drawing and representation, landscape history and theory.
